The health care system has left much to be deserved in Guyana. Rational and well meaning governments have always placed the accent on health. On the contrary, Guyana has a pathetic history of sub-standard health services. Hospitals have failed to render their services in an efficient manner for reasons of an acute shortage of drugs and an inadequacy in staffs. Read more

Many years ago a job in Guyana was a life long security. Today it is directly the opposite situation. Few now see a job as leading to a pension.
