Breaking News from Guyana: No tickets available to the Public for Carifesta

Our sources in Georgetown for two day now were trying to acquire tickets for the Carifesta events, since the tickets became available to the public on Tuesday August 19 2008. They stood on line at the Cultural Center, Theater Guild, 91 Middle street CARIFESTA Secretariat and Sophia locations. As of 12 pm today August 21 2008 they have not been able to acquire any tickets neither were many members of the general public. Moreover, we were told that the tickets after being printed went into the hands of top government officials and were distributed to family members and close associates. The information related about ticket distribution were less than truthful. The scene in Georgetown is absolutely chaotic right now according to one of our associates. He is currently standing at the 91 middle street locations, hoping for a miracle.
Clearly Guyana is not ready for any sort of regional event. What is currently happening is Guyana should be explained by the Robert Persaud, the Official with the longest title in the history of public office servants who is responsible for the hosting of the event. Again though should we expect anything different from the Guyanese government? This is history repeating itself. Carifesta is about culture and integrating all of Guyana, not just a favorable set of people. But in Guyana, goods and services have always been in favor of those in power and again it is happening. Guyana is trying to fill a tall order that cannot it cannot absolutely satisify but it is the large egos of these elected officials that are adding to the current state of affairs. Jagdeo and Persaud, the diabolical duo needs to get there heads out of each others you know what and start printing some more tickets or allow the public to enter ticketed events with out restrictions. The events of Carifesta will only serve to segregate the people after these few days are gone, when all goes back to normal. Carifesta is for all Guyanese, not the wealthy and privileged few.

YOU CAN’T BE SERIOUS!!! I’m a little skeptical of that because how could a country host an event such as Carifesta and not have tickets for the general public???

That’s impossible!!!!! How could an event such as that not have enough tickets?
This is the real Guyana. There are a bunch of morons running that country. Seriously, absolute nimrods, From Jagdeo, to Persaud…right down the line.
They are hosting a caribbean wide event in Guyana and the majority of Guyanese wanting to be part of that event in their country are excluded. Tell the Doc and the economist, monkies have better analytical skills than them.

Naseer you should be lucky to have a ticket.I live in Berbice trying for four days to obtain one which is to no avail. Please read the recent blog or go to Stabroek News, you will be surpised when you see the proof for yourself. Why would anyone believe that you got your free? Hundreds of people there from monday who couldnt get any, but you the business man get one-how fortunate. So much did you pay? Maybe if you have a contact, i am intrested in buying some also.
