The importance of Donating to Kids First Fund

August 3, 2008

Kids First Fund is a non-profitable, non-governmental organization, which was registered on February 11th 2000 by the founder Ms Varshnie Singh. The objective of this organization is to provide funding for poor children who require emergency medical treatment, regardless of race, religion and political affiliation.

Kids First Fund would not be possible without the support of donors and their humanitarian services in Guyana and throughout the world such as India, Canada, United States of America, England, and Mexico etc. They have been relying on hospitals, airlines, businesses, media, and volunteers, religious and charitable organizations for their help.

The significance of donating to Kids First Fund is because the money is used for assisting in airfares, surgery cost, medicines, prosthetic limbs, hold surgery at no cost, eye test, scans and blood test. Heart surgery cost approximately $20,000 to $25,000 USD In Trinidad and Tobago [4M - 5 MGYD. The average family would be unable to acquire such a huge sums in their lifetime much less at a short notice.

However I am dismayed about the situation where by Ms. Varshnie resorted to walking, taking the minibus and taxi on her daily routine to help save her charitable organization. She pleaded with the public that she would be very grateful if anyone could lend her a vehicle to use.

However, no Woman Rights Organization in Guyana has supported Ms. Varshnie neither has any condemned President Bharrat Jagdeo for withdrawing the vehicle his former wife had previously used for charitable work and discriminating against children. Whatever President Bharrat Jagdeo has been doing to his wife or his nation has become a National drama/tragedy. No one knows if the President of Guyana has divorced former First Lady or if there is an impending divorce!

Unfortunately, Ms Varshnie had to be married in order to help the nations children before they can have any assistance. We should support the ideals of Ms. Varshanie goals to help save the lives of sick children and adults.

So let me get this right, Jagdeo donated millions to a fashion show in Guyana, but took away the car that Ms. Jagdeo used for Kids First Fund???

Can we get this lady a bicycle or something? Until she gets a car?

Bharrat Jagdeo is a coward- he rather seize his wife car and let innocent children suffer and spending millions on Mashramani /Pageants.

Recently it was stated that a business enterprise in Georgetown, Guyana had donated a car to Ms Varshnie Singh so that she can continue her work.

Got something to say?
