First Mitral Valve Replacement in Guyana (video)
March 26, 2008
How many Guyanese and Trinidadians have come to the U.S. for surgery? Almost everyone is trying to. Before either countries had neither the skill nor the ability to perform such operations like “mitral valve replacement”. Things are changing.
Here is a video posted on YouTube claiming to be footage of the first Mitral Valve replacement in Guyana. There is no verification of his however. Has anyone seen this video and can verify that this is the actual footage?

Got something to say?

What? This video is quite obscure…I am not sure if this is bicuspid valve replacement..could be any type cardio thoraic surgery ..I doubt the claim..
I haven’t seen this before, but I have heard something about it.
Can you supplement some info,,Samantha,,,Bicuspid valve replacement requires intensive post surgical care,, I am not sure Guyana has cyclosporine therapy to treat rejection and infection..if they do,,i will be shocked…since one dose at ,market price cost about 500-600 US,,and believe me the companies that make that suff don’t give it away for free..
