aristo’s rant - Democratic nomination

March 19, 2008

Let’s get the facts out in the open. Michigan and Florida violated the rules of the Democratic National Committee. On February 20th, Senator Hillary Clinton acknowledged that she knew the delegates of these states would not be seated, and the votes would not be counted because of these blatant violations.

However, earlier today, she calls the exclusion of these delegates ‘un-American.’
Clinton can do this with a really straight face. It is political opportunism at its finest. To say one thing and then say the exact opposite with a straight face is deceiving the American people, and also contributes to severing the Democratic party when they should be unified against bringing an end to the Bush pro-big business, pro-war, pro-tax-cut-for-the-wealthy regime.

She wants to win badly, and now she is playing the “do whatever it takes” kind of game.

Hillary needs to back down and support Obama as he has a better chance of winning against the Republicans. She has thirteen years of scandal that will be under heavy scrutiny from the Repubs.

All she is doing here is dividing the Democratic party. Easier for the republicans - divide and conquer

She must be incredibly stupid to make such a remark!

The Clintons will stop at nothing to get the nomination. Only recently has she been critizing the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for not seating the Florida and Michigan delegates. She is desperate. Never in a million years would she have thought that a black dude named Barack Obama would come out of the shadows and bring people together like nothing our generation has ever seen. The Clintons thought their political machine had the nomination in the bag.
However, in Obama’s defense, I think a President should be just that - someone that can bring people together and abide by the word of the People. Someone that listens to Congress rather than shutting them out.
If any of you heard Dick Cheney’s interview on ABC yesterday, he was told that 2/3 of this country does not agree with this war, and his reply was, “SO?”
That two thirds includes our active service men and women serving in Iraq.
We need to be better educated in the election process so that we elect people that will serve the public, not rule the public.
I hope the DNC holds their decision firm, as those states violated the party rules. The citizens of these states have no one else to be mad at but the state’s leaders, not the DNC. Hillary is pointing at the DNC, saying it’s their fault. Go figure.
Her campaign has also made commercials darkening the shade of Obama’s skin to make people realize they’re voting for a black man.
The point is that she has no other way of winning the nomination but to paint Obama as unfit to govern.
Stay tuned to a post on the Republican party in the coming days.

Sunil, you mentioned the her campaingn’s commercials darkening the shade of Obama’s skin to make people realize they’re voting for a black man: how fit is she to run this country if she’s trying to divide its people by color.

Call me crazy, but I think most people with functioning eyeballs already realized, prior to this commercial, that obama is black. Are people here agreeing that dark skin is bad and lighter skin is good? If so, then aren’t you in fact the racists?

What is happening in commercials that darken Obama’s skin color is to try to get people to lose focus on the candidate’s message. This is a tactic used in politics for decades.
For example, Hillary Clinton was quoted as saying she and McCain are both ready to run this country, but Obama is not. Keep in mind Obama has more elected political years, so her experience argument goes out the window. She also used a commercial with the famous red telephone in the White House (only rings in times of American crisis), which tries to basically scare some votes out of the country with a fear mongering approach.
I am not being racist; I am informing readers of the negative tactics used in politics. Thanks for your comments!

Joe, are you reading the same blog? There’s no statement here implying anyone is a racist and that dark skin is bad and lighter skin is good.

The question is Clinton’s focus on color. That commercial blatantly focuses on Obama’s color and reminds people who have moved past the whole racism issue that this is a black man running for president, and do they really want him as president of the United States of America.

Got something to say?
