Kris Gounden of Howard Beach Speaks the Grand Jury Hearing Scheduled for Tomorrow 3/12/2008

Tomorrow is the grand jury. We’re going to the grand jury because the offer the defendant made is an insult (only in Howard beach the defendants get to “make” offers. The defendant agreed to plead guilty to a charge (he’s being charged with three felonies), and willing to apologize, and will take a program to deal with his anger/racism issues. Sounds good, right -but when I showed up in court, he’s being offered a disorderly conduct/ willing to apologize only for calling my family n*ggas (will not address threats of arson of my home or killing of my family)/ and the program is for ONE DAY. Has a minority in ozone park/Richmond hill ever received a deal like this? What message will this send to the public by accepting this offer? Again, there are no politicians to fight for us.
Today I took a picture of 2 Budweiser 40oz empty beer bottles along with female underwear that has some sort of red stain in the crotch area (my wife went to collect mail and brought this to my attention). There is still an illegal auto body shop next door to my house with a commercial container ON the city sidewalk blocking people from using the sidewalk and forcing people to trespass on my private property (the guy’s family is on the Queens Community Board and friends with the local councilman. I reported this problem of trespassing to them, but the city workers only came out to make sure I got rid of the illegal vehicle parked on my property when I bought the house. My driveway still has double parking issues (impossible to get NYPD to write a ticket. People in Howard Beach have NYFD and NYPD paperwork so I guess its ok to block my driveway, double-park, leave open alcohol bottles in front and on my property. I take pictures (one guy referred to me as a terrorist in front of NYPD). Has things gotten better? Hummmm.
