T&T’s Promised Helicopter has arrived in Guyana but not for Long

March 1, 2008

According to the Stabroek news dated 02/29/2008, the promised helicopter from the government of Trinidad and Tobago has arrived in Guyana. Sources close to the Stabroek news reported that the chopper will be in the hands of Trinidadians while it is in use in Guyana and members of Guyana’s army air corps will serve as support or back up. Moreover, Prime Minister Manning of Trinidad noted that the chopper would be in Guyana for a short while. The article further highlights that it is not clear whether the specialized weapons that was promised by Trinidad had arrived. Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee mentioned to reporters that there were some difficulties with the procurement of weapons and having them shipped in a way that their security was not compromised.

Which one is it? Are you having problems in shipping weapons or problems acquiring them Mr. Rohee? If you have acquired the necessary weapons, you have a sorry excuse for not having them in Guyana, Mr. Rohee. What security are you talking about? Could you not have members of the Trinidad defense force and members of the Guyana defense force collaborate on the project. From the comments you made, anyone can easily deduce that you are clueless as to the current status of the weapons acquisition. If you cannot get from Trinidad, Then Suriname, or Venezuela should be an option. Oops! I forgot! Relations with Suriname are not so great with that border issue and all and Hugo Chavez is bent on having Essequibo. So Guyana has no neighboring allies. Well, if you don’t live good with your neighbors then who will you call upon when the security of your citizens is threatened. I would assume that the sales from new bottles of coffee are at an all time low since this type of fear is a strong motivator for people to stay awake with a consistent activation of the Sympatric Nervous System. Why to rally up the people in believing that the government is there to protect them when threatened by external stimulus.

Mr. Rohee, You are not transporting nuclear weapons across borders, so I do not see the validity in your transportation excuses. Moreover, what is the time frame on the loan of the helicopter? Prime Minister Manning has explicitly stated that the loan will be brief. Is it days or months? I would hope it would be until these pusillanimous individuals are in custody. I pray for the citizens of Guyana, because the police seems to be working on their own clock, not that of the criminals which it ought to be. The government is still not admitting that they are inept and do not have the tools to see them through purgatory. This is the very arrogance that led to the multitude of troubles that resulted in the devastation called Guyana.

Tomorrow my colleagues and I will be in Richmond Hill, Queens to protest and communicate with the Guyanese community on the recent events. My goal is to understand the political machine as it stands from a continent apart and what can be done to ameliorate the condition in Guyana

Andrew, I think you meant to say “…the sales from new bottles of coffee are at an all time [high]…” instead of “low”. No?

It’s amazing how a few individuals can wreck havoc on an entire country. That goes to show where that country’s ability is to protect its own people against a few men. Just imagine what would happen if Hugo Chavez decides to invade Guyana.

I want someone to tell me, what would happen if Hugo Chavez invades Guyana?

No ..I meant to say “low” since the people are kept awake for the immediate fear of being slaugtered like animals in the night…there is no need for coffee..fear keeps the adrenaline hormone activated at all times..

True, but fear alone cannot fight sleep. How many nights do you think they could stay awake high on fear alone? But that is neither here or there.

Do you have a comment on the Hugo Chavez?

One helicopter? What’s the point? That would be like playing a game of checkers with only two kings (one for each opponent); it will never end.

Got something to say?
