aristo’s rant - How the Republican Party has Crumbled

February 29, 2008

Dating back to the times of Abraham Lincoln, the Republican Party was quite different from what we now know Republicans to be.

From the Nixon days onward, Republicans have been a party of secrets, in support of big business rather than the U.S. citizens, and pro-war. This is very different from the true Republican Party. The Party once was in favor of a small federal government, giving much of the power to the states, such as abortion, drug and marriage laws, some of the things the new age (commony called Neo-Conservative) Republicans aim to control at the federal level.
The true Republicans favor hard working citizens, and allows these citizens to rise as high as their will takes them. Republicans were in favor of innovation, leading the world in energy sources, various branches of science, technology, and space exploration.

Thanks to the Republican control over the past 8 years, the federal government has grown to control many of the things that once made this country the land of the free. This very article is probably being read by a federal agent thanks to the Patriot Act, the limitation of the 5th Amendment, and the Military Act, all made possible by the Neo-Conservatives.
The Richard Nixon era not only brought shame to the nation, but also introduced ideas of unsurpassed secrecy, control, and deceit.

Below you will find a clip of Ron Paul in the first Republican Presidential debate in the South, where he challenged Rudy Giuliani. It’s a must-see to get a glimpse of a real Republican, rather than the commercialized Neo-Conservative Republicans we have come to know. Ron Paul should start the Revolutionary Party - something Thomas Jefferson said we should do in the event that the Republicans have strayed as we see today. Check the clip and leave a comment!

I definitely agree that the Republican party isn’t what it was before. I even remember from some of the History classes that the Republicans and the Democrats were once combined into one party. Funny how things change…
