While eating disorders are commonly believed to be a disorder only affecting women, the original description of eating disorders in 1694, as well as the first contemporary case study of eating disorders in 1874, included males (Andersen, 1997). Although women consist of the majority of all eating disorder cases, the fact that men account for 10% of all eating disorder cases is substantial enough reason to investigate the prevalence of males developing eating disorders (Andersen, 1999). Prenatal alcohol exposure has been associated with producing malfunctions in cognitive development. Burden, Jacobson, and Jacobson (2005) researched the correlation between prenatal alcohol exposure and number processing, working memory, problem solving, and memory scanning. The researchers hypothesized that children who are exposed to moderate and heavy levels of prenatal alcohol exposure experience slower reaction times to stimuli than children who are either not exposed to prenatal alcohol, or are exposed to low alcohol levels. “Being green” in short addresses the issue dealing with the significant growth in waste that the world produces daily and what some industrialized nations are doing to combat the predicament such as the UK and the US. But what caught my attention is the reference to Guyana’s waste accumulation ratio to that of the UK and US. Moreover, the article mentions a move by the Guyanese government to conservation forestry and turning a blind eye the more eminent issue at hand which is the garbage laden city streets and dormant drainage systems. Well, intercontinental transliner Caribbean Airlines have done it to themselves or should I say their flight attendants. Yes, rectal checks every time a flight attendant gets ready to serve passengers on a flight heading to anywhere. This is in addition to the already stringent checks that the world government has sited on individuals wishing to use the airways to commute or to make a living. Read more
