aristo’s rant - U.S. Policy

September 17, 2007

So here we are in 2007, praying that our soldiers come home safe from a war babylon now says that if they had dug deeper, they would not have gone into Iraq. This is a time in history where we focus our attention on Michael Vick, a pro football quarterback that fights dogs for sport as they did in the ancient days, rather than our own government, responsible for killing over 1,000,000 men, women, and children since the start of the “war on terror.” Funny how we focus on Michael Vick, yet boxing is a sport where humans beat each other senseless (and sometimes to death) and people cheer worldwide.

Rather than putting the spotlight on Karl Rove and Alberto Gonzales, who slip out of their positions slyly, the media puts our eyes on a dog fighter. Wanna know why Rove and Gonzales slip out into the shadows? No, not because they want to retire and go back to hunting dove in Texas. They are hopeful that like Lieberman, they will be pardoned by the President if charges are brought against them before the end of this horrid tenure.

This power has been abused since the days of Nixon when Ford pardoned him in 1974. This taught babylon that they can get away with just about anything, even killing a million people in a weak country, thereafter pardoning each other, walking away scott free. Some of you dumbasses need to open your eyes and stop talking about meaningless gibberish they put on television and start using your sense of curiosity and suspicion. Start with Operation Northwoods and the Cuban Missle Crisis. Some democracy we live in, eh?

Sorry, Mr. President. You cannot pardon yourself.

Dumbasses.

LMAO @ “Sorry, Mr. President. You cannot pardon yourself.”

Freedom of choice. He was voted into presidency for a second term wasn’t he?

Now lets get this right! He wasn’t VOTED, he forced himself there thru bribery. It was an ARRANGED presidency, trust me.

Trust you? You seem so sure. Please don’t tell me you were part of the process., LOL.

Seriously though, “arranged”? How much of that is speculation and how much is true actually. As reasonable as your claims may seem - considering how unfit the president appears to lead even a flock of sheep - where are your sources? Can you validate your claims. Unless you can, when it’s all said and done all we’re left with is propaganda.

Contrary to what some of you may be thinking, the ‘dumbasses’ I refer to is NOT the government.
I believe the Bush administration came in with an agenda prior to even stepping foot into the White House. This agenda included, but was not limited to, the invasion of Iraq, which is why the case of Weapons of Mass Destruction was so pathetic, and later in 2007 proved to be too weak of a case to have gone in there in the first place.
Still, they succeeded with this item on the agenda.
Privatization of Iraq: successful as well. 180,000 of the 400,000 troops in Iraq are mercenaries, who are defined as private soldiers hired into foreign service. Blackwater, one of the many mercenary companies, have been mixed up in countless Iraqi civilian deaths, including the death of a bodyguard for the Iraqi prime minister.
Oil servicing companies such as Halliburton, mercenary companies such as Blackwater, are paid in the billions. Why would babylon want these companies to cake? How about checking Dick Chaney and George Bush’s affiliations with oil and oil servicing companies during the course of their lives. Money controls our government, and with it, among many things, media can be controlled, which ultimately leads to citizen control/silence. Our beloved babylon listens to the money, not the people
If you ask me, this administration has been pretty darn successful at achieving everything on their agenda, not stupidly slipping up in Iraq and on our own soil with many domestic issues. The dumbasses are the citizens of this country that sit, watch the 10 o’clock news, and think they know the real deal. Thank you! Come again!

    Mr. Sunil,
I agree with you one hundred percent that the dumb-asses in this country are not the govt. But the citizens. We let them pull the sheets over our eyes and like the rest of the world thinks, we are nothing more than dumb lazy Americans!
This is supposed to be OUR government, we vote into office whichever knucklhead we ‘relate’ to the best… And sadly Bush is the chosen one. It’s funny…. The first to complain and bitch are the same ones who do not exercise their right to vote, the same folks who look for a government handout are first in line to purchase the new V8 and park it on the street right in front of the PJ’s! In order to get this shit right WE have to change, We have to put the right people into office.
Americans as a whole have no patriotism - after 9/11 how many Old Glory’s were flying high? Now how many do you see?? This is our country we should act as if this were true…. Yes you may have been born somewhere else but you are here out of choice, our families came here for a reason… We have lost that dream our fore fathers, immigrant or not, had in sight for us. Whats done is done, but we have to stop feeding into Britney and Paris’ bullshit and concentrate on bettering ourselves and the nation will follow… not sure if i’ve made any sense, but i said what i said and now it has been said.

Yes, the “dumbasses” are the people. We wine about what the government is doing and not doing, but what are we doing? Sometimes people get too comfortable and the idea of change or doing something to bring about change and they don’t want to deal with. They would rather bit*h and moan about it than actually do something about it. Or is it that they don’t know what to do?

We have sit back for too long and allowed the control to shift from the legislative branch to the executive. If we try to organize, we are scrutinized and ridiculed. Hyprocrisy rolls throughout the country. New York, in particular, is famous for this. For example, for a public protest of over 50 people, you are now required a permit.. yes, a permit to speak!
When Mahmoud Ahmadinejad came to town yesterday, thousands were allowed to protest without a permit. Why? Because he is a muslim from the Middle East? Because he condemns the advancement of Israeli troops against neighboring countries? Thousands of Jews came to protest this guy, but most of what he says is truth. He doesn’t even want to go to war with us, yet our executive branch talks of it all the time. When will this end?
Fuck America; God bless the entire world and all the people in it.

Now with all the above being stated, one may agree that it is the citizens of these Untied States who are to blame for its degredation. Slowly but surely, our Great Democracy is leaning toward a Govermental form of a Dictatorship. Obviously the people of this nation are no longer in belief of our Great Leaders excuse for entering Iraq, and we all know the “war” is perpetually being progressed by pure greed, but what can we actually do?
Every motion, which pertains to the removal of troops in Iraq as well as changing the economic strategy in Iraq, has been shot down by OUR elected senators; simple and plain.
And while we can all sit here and rant and rave about the election being Rigged, setup, etc, theres a simple truth which stands tall. We have an electoral voting system in this country- So you could have counted as many votes as you wanted too in Florida, oh so many moons ago, but if the persons in charge wished to give the state to Bush, they had all right too. By rule of law, the electoral committee Should vote the way of the majority, but have all right to vote otherwise.
And while I sit here, hating our goverment for what it has done, and continues to do, I cannot help but think the way the goverment is setup is done for a reason..
So the Rich get Richer, and the poor…

We must go back to the origin of the point you are trying to make, which is the people who vote the elected officials in.
People that really want a change head to the polls, and more importantly, they educate themselves before even stepping foot into the voting booth. If you take into consideration less than half of our country’s citizens take the time out to vote, you’ll realizes it begins and ends in the hands of the people.

corruption lies everywhere. it’s ironic how we frown upon the Guyanese gov’t for it’s weaknesses… $2,000 US for murder… to avoid jail time. here, if you have a bend over buddy in his high place… you don’t have to pay anything. funny. i used to think of Guyana so negatively but before we bad talk Guyana… we should think twice… cuz they are moving in a forward motion, with a much stronger-minded President. that’s exactly what we need… positive leaders… that want to see us succeed… not manipulating pigs. i live for peace. it sucks that we can’t just get along and love one another.

The current situation at times is very frustrating. One of the main issues is that of the media. The people cannot react properly if the information they recieve is biased and has an agenda. News stations strive for ratings and now contain more yelling and bullshit than substance. This is very true in America with its very heavy media concentration of ownership. The first thing people need to do is look for reliable sources of information. Because without this crucial information it is foolish to have an “opinion”. Everyone has an “opinion”, but how many of them are grounded with factual evidence and reason. Luckily, with the advances of technology we now have a plethora of blogs and websites that shed some light on things. But still an added effort is need to gain a level of consciousness. This is what I think America lacks, this effort. We live in a society that glorifies many vices, especially that of materialism. Many Americans bust their asses working overtime for such things as Tivo, fashion and the garbage they call music. Basically, people are preoccupied with these fruitless endeveors they miss they main point. Even when immigrants migrate to this county they quickly get sucked into this.

Next after the effort is given to obtain accurate information, what are you to do next? Well a poster above talked about voting. That would be nice if there was free and fair elections. There are numerous instances that show much coersion and suprresion when it came to the last two presidential elections in 2000 and 2004. A few google searches will do wonders on this topic. Even official newscasts such as the BBC showed many problems with these elections. Also, look at choices you have to vote for, you often get to choose the lesser of two evils. The only real choices you have are between the two large parties the democrats and republicans, all others are insignificant. This also does not take in to account the mandatory corruption that takes place because of the prescence of lobbyists and the need for massive funding. Funding that is often wasted on smear campaigns to the opposing candidate. Even the issues that are debated are bullshit wedge issues such as immigration and abortion. Things that get people emotion but never get resolved. I have not even begun to scratch the surface. But I will say that this is still the best situation in the history of man. The freedoms, technologies and especially opputurnites for improvement are unmatched in history, If we born just a few decades ago, there would be problems such as segregation. Look at other places in the world and their lack of neccesities and oppurtunites. This is why I believe we need to be grateful for all we do have. This is why I also believe we need to fight to keep what freedoms we do have. As soon as you start taking them for granted, they start taking them from you. As a great man one said ” He who gives up freedom for liberty, deserves neither”

By the way, the attitude portrayed by the admin is exactly what is wrong with this world. All hype and attack, no substance. Everyone knows everything. When people start talkin about certain issues, they are often labeled “conspiracy theorist” or”anti american” . This is the easiest way to discredit someone, with ad hominen attacks. It is much easier to do this than to refute their points or even state one’s own opinion in a civilized manor. I also love the argument “stop whining and do something about it”. Change is a process, not an instance. The first step is to ask questions and ecourage discourse. Then you need a united, organized effort or protest. Just remember, even for know it alls, there is always someone smarter.

I agree with you 100% mr. consigliere. Very well thought out. Also to mr. aristo, your points are good and you have a good heart to care about the people in the middle east being murdered for nothing. To get back to consigliere’s point, without reliable sources of information, all of your “facts” are propaganda. Propaganda is propaganda no matter where it comes from. I seek truth. I agree that people should use their sense of curiosity also, but that should apply to everything. You can’t scrutinize the hell out of one source you dislike, and then accept as gospel another source that you do like. Everyone has an agenda. The reason the media is telling us about Mike Vick and Britney is because we want to hear it. Ratings and money rule what the media puts out. The American popular culture cares about things other than politics. If more people cared about the Iraq war and wanted to see shows about it, it would be on TV more. Humans are very selfish creatures. You expect americans to care about 1M dead Arabs (this estimate is disputable) when there are many many more people in our own backyard in poverty and killing each other?

Yes, there are a lot of things not on the up and up in the U.S. But, as sad as it sounds, this is still one of most free and fair countries in the world. Our ancestors could only have dreamed of the opportunities we have now. We should be thankful for that and take advantage of the situation in order to give ourselves and our families the best life possible. We could be an indentured servant right now getting whipped to cut cane faster.

We still have a long way to go, but you expect man to be honest and not corrupt? That will never happen. Man has been and always will be corrupt. There are few who put the needs of others over their own needs.

    Consigliere,
Are you serious? Are we reading the same blog? Please shed some light on these “attacks” because I have no idea who or what you claim I was attacking.

Aside from that I do agree that this country is one of the most free and fair countries in the world. We have so much freedom and opportunity here, and sometimes we take it for granted. This country has come a long way and it doesn’t stop here, it will continue to evolve. We may not like the way the government works as it is not free and fair, but we can help change it. Isn’t that what democracy is all about? Giving power to the people? Yes, change is a process, and with effort it is eventual.

As for the media and the garbage it shows people, regardless of what, people still pay attention to it. People complain about the garbage on the media and how biased the information is, yet they still watch/listen/read it. The information on television and newspapers may be biased, but we now have an alternate source for for unbiased information - the internet. How many of us actually look to alternate sources for information that’s impartial? We complain about the Britney and Paris garbage flooding the media, but do we actually give our attention to something that’s not “bullshit” or do we simply choose an alternative that’s no better than the Britney and Paris garbage?

I seek truth as well Mr. Fya. The only difference between you and I is that I actually SEEK it, while you watch Fox news, if you get around to it.
Our beloved government has laid the track for a military state in the event of another “catastrophy,” of which you haven’t even begun to understand. Free and clear means babylon not having the right to take away your property and other assets because you are believed to be a “threat” because of your ideas, the words you speak and the people you can reach (yes, this act against peaceful, organized protest became a law within the last 60 days). Seek the real truth, not what is spoonfed to you, my friend.
Change is fought for; it is earned. It is never granted just because.
    The struggle continues…
